How to measure for Buckaroo Casual/Uniform Belt

How to accurately measure yourself for a:

  • Buckaroo (KSB32/38) Ken’s Special Belt
  • (WB50) Workers Belt
  • (VEL32) Velcro Belt

Getting your belt size right is straightforward, but DO NOT just go off your pant size. Pant sizing varies between brands and usually runs smaller than your actual belt measurement.

Follow the steps below to pinpoint your exact size so your new Buckaroo belt lands right where it should: closest to the centre hole, giving you room to adjust up or down.

Step 1: Choose Your Measuring Method

You can get your measurement using an existing belt (the easiest option) or directly through your pant loops.

Option A: Measure an Existing Belt

  • Lay your current belt flat on a clean workbench or table.
  • Rest your tape measure hook inside the buckle frame (right against the inside edge where the leather folds over the hardware). Measuring from the inside edge will account for differences in buckle thickness across different hardware styles.
  • Run the tape straight down to the hole you use most. Look for the hole showing the most wear, stretching, or creasing.
  • Note the exact inch measurement. Depending on where your measurement falls, round up to the nearest half inch or centimetre.

Option B: Measure On body

  • Wear the pants you plan to use with the belt.
  • Thread a flexible measuring tape directly through your belt loops at the exact height you normally wear your pants.
  • Pull the tape snug, just as you would pull a belt tight and record the measurement in inches. Again, choosing the closest 1/2” number.
Step 2: Select Your Buckaroo Size

Buckaroo leather casual & uniform belts feature a 5-hole layout. Use your measurement to select a size that correlates closest to the centre hole.

  • Centre-Hole: If you measure 32” (81.2cm), round up to the nearest centre hole. A Buckaroo Size 32 measures 32.5" (82.5cm) from the inside buckle end to the centre hole, in the case this would be your best size.

  • Adjustment: Sizing to the middle hole gives you two holes tighter and two holes looser. From each hole to the next the centre-to-centre distance is 1-1/8” inches or 2.86 centimetres. This accommodates seasonal clothing layers, high- or low-rise pant styles, and natural body changes over time.
